ADVrider.com Central Wisconsin Adventure Ride

THIS RIDE IS FULL!
Check out this ride on ADV Rider

Twin Headlight Ernie and I are going to organize a fun little weekend group ride in June.
What we are thinking is meeting in Black River Falls on Friday June 15th and on
Saturday, we will ride about 250 miles of the Trans Wisconsin Trail to Clam Lake where
we will camp. Then on Sunday, everyone will go their own way. I think this is one of the
most fun sections of the TWAT route.

This route will be suitable for larger ADV bikes with knobbies but will be more fun on
smaller bikes. We will be camping and riding fully loaded so leave your trailers and big
camping gear at home. Basically this will be a fun ride with old and new friends, we will
check out some interesting sites and have some great times.

Meeting point:
Parking lot at N44 17.704 W90 49.174

Be here and ready to go no later than 8:30am Saturday morning. We will need to have
everyone off by 9am to get to Clam Lake. This means you need to be fed, gassed and
ready to roll!

You are on your own to navigate this route and the exact route you take is up to you.
There are easy ways, and more difficult ways to get to Clam Lake. If you do all the Clark
County ATV trails, and the Dead Horse Trail, you will need to keep a good pace. If you
are unable to navigate the route on your own then you need to hook up with a group to
ride with. I suggest that people ride in groups of 5 or so riders of similar abilities to keep
the pace and keep the dust down.

****  Everyone will be on their own to make lodging arrangements Friday night ****

If Cabins are more your style the the Parkland Village campground has park model campers
available for rent and the prices aren't too bad. They also have tent camping sites:

I will be contacting Parkland Village about a group site, but last time I stayed there with a group we barely had room for 12 riders, I will post more when I get updated info.

Saturday Nights lodging will be at the Boulder Lodge on Ghost Lake  http://www.boldlodge.com/
The cost is $20 per tent and they also have a cabin available if you would prefer that, otherwise we have most of the campsites reserved for our group! The Boulder Lodge is a cool place and has a great lodge with a bar and restaurant on site so you don't have to worry about cooking Saturday night.
