The DR650 was running like a champ, despite the need for some serious TLC. Such a fun bike!
I made a couple trips to Chicago & LaCrosse Wisconsin this spring to do some presentations on the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail. We had a huge turnout for the first presentation at MCC in Villa Park!
I was doing these presentations for the guided tours I'm leading on the TWAT route for RIDE Adventures.
Over the winter I have been planning a trip out west for the spring, and my intention was to attend the Overland Expo, and to visit a bunch of locations where I want to take photos. That trip required a more long distance motorcycle than the DR650 (Not that a DR can't do it, mine just would need a lot of work).
My buddy Bill had a sweet KTM 990 Adventure R that he decided to sell, so I sold what was left of my soul and purchased it. It sure was great to be back on an LC8 KTM, they are amazing bikes, but the maintenance is a bit of a pain in the ass. Its all worth it though, very fun bikes!
So now I have the bike prepped and loaded and ready to go, now I'm just sitting at home waiting for a break in the big wall of storms across the midwest so I can take off on my next adventure.
